Quito is blessed by spring-like weather all year round and was the first city in the Globe UNESCO declared as a World Heritage Centre due to its well-conserved historical city center, the largest in Latin America. Quito is the urban area of the Metropolitan District of Quito, which also includes Andean rural villages and forests of the South American Bioregion of Chocó. Indeed, the altitudinal variations of the District range from 400 meters (tropical forests of Chocó) to 4700 meters (Pichincha Volcano).
