  • Her research has revolved around questions about the effects of globalization on social inequalities in Latin America. For this, it has analyzed the new migratory processes from the Andean region to Europe and the United States, especially of women and indigenous peoples, and also the migratory returns and circularities that have taken place as a result of the global crisis of 2008.
< / br> I am currently investigating the deportation processes of Ecuadorian indigenous migrants, their effects on families and post-deportation life in rural communities in Ecuador. A second project is the analysis of Venezuelan migration from a gender perspective and the responses of the States to this migration. In addition, as of June 2020 she is the President of LASA (Latin American Studies Association) and is currently coordinator of the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies of FLACSO Ecuador.
