  • Doctor in Social Sciences, Sociology, National University of Cuyo, Argentina. Master in Social Sciences, Flacso Mexico. Professor and researcher since 1999. He was also Coordinator of the postgraduate course in Security, Politics and Democracy of the National Institute of Defense INADE of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Ecuador. He held two subsecretaries of State between 2008 and 2010: Internal Security and Political Coordination of the Ministry of Government, Police and Cults. He was Advisor of International Affairs of the Ministerial Cabinet of National Defense. From 2008 to 2011 he chaired the Board of Directors of International Cooperation of the Republic of Ecuador. He participated in the gestation of the South American Defense Council of UNASUR and is an advisor - evaluator of the National Defense School of the Argentine Republic, Director of the Latin American Journal of Security Studies URVIO http://revistas.flacsoandes.edu.ec/urvio; and the Latin American Network for the Analysis of Security and Organized Crime RELASEDOR http://www.relasedor.org Integrates the Scientific Committee of the Center for Security Studies -CESEG- of the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
