She has a Ph.D. degree in Sociology from The College of Mexico. Nowadays, she is investigative teacher of the Department of Sociology and Gender Studies at FLACSO Ecuador. Her lines of investigation have turned concerning the relation between gender, sexuality and politics.
She has investigated on the processes of politicization of the sexuality in historical and compared key (gender, sexuality and class inside structural and state changes) from deep theoretical reflections between the sociology, the theories feminists and the studies of gender and supported empirical investigations in Ecuador, Bolivia and Mexico.
Her interests of investigation have the need to understand the joint between social inequality, gender and sexuality. In her recent investigations, she has analyzed the emotions, practices and imaginary concerning the gender and the sexuality of the young women in contexts marked for social inequality; the relations of power -crossed by conflicts of gender and class- the sexual diversities; the speeches and the regulatory practices of the States in relation to the sexuality and the disputes, the organizational forms and the social mobilization of the collective actors.
