Professor Chauca works on issues related to the History of knowledge in the Amazon during early modernity, with special reference to the role of Catholic missions. He has received numerous awards and has publications in renowned magazines about Amazon cartography and the role of indigenous people in the development of science. During his stay at FLACSO he will teach a History of Science course, collaborate in the course of Amazonian History and will carry out a doctoral seminar on History of knowledge and a thesis workshop on History of space.
