  • She studied Geography at the Potifical University Catholic of Ecuador. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Geography at the University of Regensburg (Germany). Between 2010 and 2012, she developed a post-doctoral research stay at the University Friedrich Alexander Erlangen Nuremberg (Germany) as part of her participation in the research project of the group FOR816 of the German Research Foundation DFG: Biodiversity and Sustainable Management of a Megadiverse Mountain Ecosystem in Southern Ecuador.

    Her research areas are related to the science of land use, mainly land use changes, their spatial patterns and socio-ecological dynamics associated. She has worked on the expansion of agricultural frontiers in Andean areas, including land tenure systems, modes of production, demography, economic and political national and global contexts. Currently, she is interested in the link between the notions of territory operated from Latin America, environmental changes and production of rural areas in the region. She works at the Department of Development, Environment and Territory.
