Biography

  • Ph.D. in Architecture and Urban Studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Master´s degree in City Government, with specialization in city development at FLACSO Ecuador. Specialization in Planning and management of regional development with emphasis on urban design at the University of the Andes-Cider. Architecture and urban planning at the University of America.

    Since 2002, he started his career as a university professor in Bogota. Since 2013, he is research professor at FLACSO Ecuador in the Department of Public Affairs, and in the Master's program in Urban Studies.

    His area of specialty is the study of the Latin American city with emphasis on processes of new urban marginality and exclusion. In Bogota, Quito and Santiago de Chile, he has conducted studies on public utilities, popular housing and social housing, and socio-territorial trajectories of urban employment.
