  • She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Leuven (Belgium). She holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences (Sociology and Anthropology)at the same university. Since starting college, she became interested in the problems of organized action and more specifically in development action. She has conducted several analysis of public and private organizations, processes of change and institutional reform as well as social policies. In her doctoral thesis, her interdisciplinary training is applied, in order to analyze the issue of fair trade, which is an area that poses the question of collective action and solidarity economy in the context of plurality.

    Since 2001, she is research Professor at FLACSO Ecuador, and since 2009, she is visiting Professor at the Center Democracy, Institutions and Subjectivity (CRIDIS) at the University of Leuven. She also participates in the Laboratory of Governance of FLACSO Ecuador and in the Group Worlds of Work of the International System of FLACSO.
