Biography

  • She is an expert in sociolinguistics and she is passionate about multiculturalism. She speaks five languages (German, French, Spanish, English and Portuguese) and have basic knowledge in Aymara and Quechua. She holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Vienna. She studied minority languages in Europe and the implementation of intercultural bilingual education model and its implications for indigenous languages in Ecuador.

    For seven years, she was technical advisor in various projects of the German Cooperation GTZ in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. In Bolivia, she supported the processes of intercultural training in the framework of the Bolivian Educational Reform for four years. She has considerable experience working with indigenous peoples. Currently, she is a research professor in the Department of Development, Environment and Territory of FLACSO.
